Shoppers in Cactus Howald no longer have to go underground to buy their groceries after the store opened their newly renovated space to the public on Wednesday.
In January 2017, stock was moved into the 2,400 square metre underground car park to enable work to begin on the main shop which opened in 1989.
Store manager Claude Ganser told Delano when they visited in 2017 that under EU requirements certain technical elements needed to be updated.
17 months on and the Luxembourg supermarket chain officially inaugurated the renovated space with an exclusive reception on Tuesday. Among the highlights of the new area dedicated to organic and packaging-free products and a meat maturing area. The small stores, including Voyages Emile Weber, ING, Mister Minit, 5àSec, Orange, K-Kiosk, NM Coiffure and Schnéckert as well as a small post office point are now also open in the gallery.
