As lockdown is eased in Luxembourg, certain team sports will be permitted starting 11 May, but with new restrictions
Some sports complexes may be able to reopen starting 11 May provided they adhere to strict measures, but gyms and swimming pools will remain closed, sports minister Dan Kersch said on Friday.
Speaking in a televised press conference on Friday afternoon, the LSAP minister said that the decision remained at the discretion of owners of sports halls, be they private owners or communes. Judo halls will remain closed, however.
On a public level, the sports lycée will resume sports activities from 18 May, unlike all other public schools where sports classes have been abolished. Strict terms will be applied to minimise contact.
All outdoor sports are permitted, the minister said, provided there is no physical contact, competition or public.
