Letting off some steam: The City of Luxembourg has dozens of playgrounds for kids of all ages.
If your kids are getting restless, the huge number of playgrounds in and around the heart of Luxembourg City will surely save the day.
In total there are 172 playgrounds in the capital, although 57 are part of schools and only open to the public during weekends and holidays.
Five sites are located right in the city centre. There is a nursery playpen on Rue Des Bains, and playgrounds located on Place Guillaume and in the kindergarten and primary school located on Rue de la Congrégation.
But the city’s famous pirate ship is anchored in the Parc Municipal near Avenue Monterey. The life-size wooden boat has many structures to climb on, slides, swing sets, a sandbox, and the children’s favourite water circuit, with pumps and other water fun, very appropriate for the summer.
The boat is conveniently located near toilets and cafés.
When it’s time to walk the plank, more playgrounds are found in nearby Pfaffenthal, Limpertsberg and Belair.
