Rotondes is hosting another string of great cult movies, many with a music theme, in association with the Cinémathèque and the Ville de Luxembourg.
The season of films, titled “Summer of Hippies” includes some obvious choices, such as Miloš Forman’s film of the musical “Hair” (on Tuesday 20 August) and the “Woodstock” documentary (photo) to mark the 50th anniversary of the iconic music festival (on Wednesday 14 August). Then there is modern classic “Almost Famous” (on Monday 19 August) with its unforgettable tour bus rendition of ‘Tiny Dancer’.
But this week is also a chance to catch the rarely seen, way out there “The Holy Mountain” by Alejandro Jodorowsky (on Tuesday 13 August) and Arthur Penn’s often overlooked Arlo Guthrie starring satirical comedy “Alice's Restaurant” (on Sunday 18 August)
Entrance is free and the screenings start at 9.30 p.m.
