New York quintet Ava Luna bring their unique sound to Rotondes next Tuesday.
Ava Luna play the sort of genre-bending synth-funk favoured by their clear influences, Talking Heads and Stereolab. Last album, 2018’s “Moon 2” was hailed as one of the year’s most unique and captivating records and received acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork and The AV Club, which hailed it as “a collection of standout tracks”, each a “big, bold dance party” in its own right.
Their live performances have been described as “magnetic and theatrical”, so this show in the intimate Rotondes is worth checking out.
Support comes from one of Delano’s favourite local bands, jangly harmonising psych-poppets Autumn Sweater.
