Fête de la Musique events take place across the grand duchy this week.
For a full week, from 14 to 21 June, the streets and squares of Luxembourg’s towns and cities will pulsate to the sound of live music of all kinds as the country marks the annual Fête de la Musique. The full programme is vast, so here are some of Delano’s recommendations.
14 June: Luxembourg City plays host to over 50 performances including shows for morning commuters at the tram-funicular interchange, lunchtime and afternoon sessions outside the national art museum (opposite The Tube). Evening gigs include the likes of Porn Queen and Cyclorama on rue des Bains outside Rocas, electro and hip-hop acts like Mikasi Project and Giamba on rue du St. Esprit and the Elevator DJ collective spinning tunes, as always, on the Corniche.
15 June: In Dudelange the main attraction is probably Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, but music fans can also catch Ireland’s The Coronas (photo), Lea, from Germany as well as scores of local bands including Mad Fox, Seed to Tree, Go By Brooks and Versus You, performing across 10 stages.
Meanwhile in Esch-Belval the Rockhal is hosting a concert for kids with Georges Goerens (Bartleby Delicate & Seed to Tree)
16 June: head down to the Moselle and catch Serge Tonnar & Legotrip and The Savages in Wellenstein.
